PLACENOTES
PLACENOTES is a whole new kind of travel guide published by the Charles Moore Foundation. The guide, instead of being a book, is a study box of cards. Each card depicts and guides people to a good and spirited place. As everywhere looks more and more like nowhere, PLACENOTES seeks out places that make us feel as though we are somewhere. Its central motto, in fact, is "Life Takes Place."
The idea for the guide's unique format originated from Charles Moore's sly observation that "the best test of architecture may be whether people send postcards of your building."
PLACENOTES are distributed nationwide by the University of Texas Press. Nine titles are in print, with many more in production. To learn more about or purchase PLACENOTES, please visit its own website.
